Presentation Evening 2019
Last night, Harington School held its annual Presentation Evening, where last years’ Year 13 students returned to collect their A level certificates and celebrate their achievements with staff and friends. It was wonderful to welcome former students, parents, the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, the Mayor of Oakham along with other dignitaries.
Our guest speaker for the evening was Nigel Lashbrook, former Head of Oakham School who gave the students an inspirational speech about his life and career. He spoke about the importance of staying true to who you are and always backing yourself.
This year group not only achieved outstanding A level results, but also broader achievements and life skills, with many taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, musical performances and sporting successes. They proved their resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.
John Harrison, Head of School, commented “It was wonderful to celebrate the accomplishments of our students who not only achieved academic success, but were a wonderful group of students to work with for the past 2 years.”
