We are currently consulting on our Admissions Policy for 2019 and would be interested in your views. The consultation period will be from Friday 7 December to Friday 21 December. As a result of reviewing the changes in the GCSE grading system we are formally proposing to amend the academic entry requirements to the School. This would see a change from 5 six grades at GCSE to 5 five grades at GCSE with sixes expected in a student’s chosen subject. In subjects not previously studied at GCSE (e.g. Economics and Psychology) we have included subject specific criteria based around a grade five. Due to the academic demands associated with Maths and Science, we are proposing to increase the entry requirements in those subjects to a grade seven at GCSE. The proposed changes would also give the Head of School and Executive Principal the opportunity to review individual applications on a case by case basis. We are not proposing any changes to the priority for places criteria.
