APPLICATION PROCESS
We are delighted that you are interested in applying to Harington School for August 2024 entry. Prior to completing the application form, via the link below, we would encourage you to view the curriculum pages of our website and read through the admissions policy which can be found here.
Once we have received your application, we will invite you to a one-to-one meeting which is designed to support your application. It will include careers guidance on subject combinations, we will also be able to answer any questions you may have about the School.
The final aspect of our process prior to enrolment is to attend our induction days. These are held in June (after your GCSE exams) and are another opportunity to meet fellow students, speak to teachers and experience subject taster lessons.
Where possible we will support all requests to visit the School prior to starting.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Each year Harington School offers 150 places in Year 12 to students who meet our admissions criteria.
The School is open to all students who satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission as set out below:
- A minimum of grade 4 in Mathematics and English.
Students will also need to meet the following subject based criteria in each subject they wish to take as an A level.
| Subject | Criteria |
|---|---|
| Physics, chemistry or biology | Grade 7 in that subject at GCSE or 7 in both Combined Science grades. Students studying physics are required to study A level mathematics. Students studying chemistry and biology would also benefit from studying mathematics at A level. |
| Mathematics or further mathematics* | Grade 7 in GCSE mathematics. |
| Business studies | GSCE grade 6 in English and mathematics or a grade 6 in GCSE business studies. |
| Design technology | GCSE grade 6 in design technology or the equivalent GCSE subject. |
| Economics | GCSE grade 6 in English and mathematics. |
| Psychology | GCSE grade 6 in English, grade 5 in mathematics and grade 6 in a science. |
| All other subjects | Grade 6 in the equivalent GCSE subject. |
| Economics and Business studies | Students are not permitted to study both economics and business studies. |
