Debate Team at Parliament 2023
At the end of last term Year 12 students Tomasz, Archie, Jasmin and Maya, represented Harington School in the inaugural Rutland Schools Debating Competition hosted by local MP Alicia Kearns in Parliament. Students performed superbly on the day debating topics such as “Class B drugs should be legalised” and “Human cloning should be banned” and reaching the final to debate the topic of “everyone has the right to an assisted death.”
Despite missing out on the overall title they were exceptional and should be proud of their debating skills which drew considerable praise from the judges. Who knows, perhaps one of these students will become a future MP or Prime Minister?
