Harington School retains Outstanding
Ofsted Inspection: 5 March 2025
Harington School continues to be an outstanding post 16 provider following its recent Ofsted inspection.
Oliver Teasel Head of School said “I am proud of everyone at Harington that contributes to its success. Our staff provide incredible learning experiences, students are “respectful, highly motivated and consistently work hard to achieve their goals. Harington is a really special school and does a fantastic job at preparing students for their next steps. As one student said to the lead inspector ‘Harington is shaping who I am and who I want to be’”.
Aside from the strong examination outcomes and destination data, the inspection team were impressed with the extensive, high-quality enrichment opportunities the school provides, such as trips, visits, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Young Enterprise, DocSoc and GreenPower. They also praised the careers programme and exceptional teaching.

Ofsted Inspection: 17 January 2017
We are delighted to announce that students, staff, parents and governors can take great pride in Harington School having been judged Outstanding by Ofsted. The thorough inspection took place in the school between 17-19 January 2017.
Ofsted was notably impressed by our students, observing in its inspection report that “Students take a great deal of pride in their work and commit very seriously to their studies; they develop good independent learning skills and use these to enhance their subject knowledge, with striking impact on their progress. Students are highly motivated to learn and demonstrate a keen sense of enquiry in lessons; they have a very strong interest in their subjects and thrive in the academically challenging learning atmosphere.”
The quality of teaching was noted throughout the report, “Teachers’ expectations of students are very high and they are unrelenting in their pursuit of student success; they have excellent subject knowledge and use this very well to inspire students.”
Particular strengths identified by Ofsted included the culture of high expectation established by the school leaders, effective collaboration between school leaders and excellent partnerships with local feeder schools. The wealth of experience in education offered by Harington’s governors was also noted, as was the quality of support for students making decisions about higher education and careers.
