APPLICATION PROCESS

We are delighted that you are interested in applying to Harington School for August 2024 entry. The application form will be available following our Open Evening on Tuesday 7 November 2023.

Once we have received your application we will invite you to a one-to-one meeting which is designed to support your application. It will include careers guidance on subject combinations, we will also be able to answer any questions you may have about the School. Where possible we will support all requests to visit the School prior to starting.

The deadline for applications to join us in 2023  has closed.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Each year Harington School offers 150 places in Year 12 to students who meet our admissions criteria.

The School is open to all students who satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission as set out below:

  • A minimum of grade 4 in Mathematics and English.

Students will also need to meet the following subject based criteria in each subject they wish to take as an A level.

SubjectCriteria
Physics, Chemistry or Biology7 or above in that subject at GCSE or 7 or above in both Combined Science grades. For students studying Physics it is expected that they will also study A level Mathematics. Students studying Chemistry and Biology would also benefit from studying Mathematics at A level.
Mathematics or Further Mathematics7 or above in GCSE Mathematics.
Business StudiesGSCE grade 6 or above in English and Mathematics or a grade 6 in GCSE Business Studies.
EconomicsGCSE grades 6 or above in English and Mathematics.
PsychologyGCSE grades 6 or above in English and Mathematics and grade 6 in a Science.
All other subjects6 or above in the equivalent GCSE subject.
Economics and Business studiesStudents are not permitted to study both Economics and Business Studies.
